I take 3 tool bags on every ride in my buggy. They're around 12+" long I believe. Does anyone else use small bags like this that take a lot of abuse? I'm going through these things fairly quickly, last set was craftsman. They weren't any better than the 2 different sets before them.

I have mine in a flat ammo can. It has also served as a hi-lift jack base in soft dirt. Watertight, too!

I have been using a couple Dewalt drill cases for several years now. You can pick them up for cheap or sometimes free and cut the plastic out of the inside. They take a lot of abuse and are fairly water tight.

Dylan is a "big" toolbag who can fit into small spaces

I just waited for Lowes to put there tools sets on sale and bought a decent sized set then everything else that I need goes into a small hard plastic tote like a tackle box that I made mounts for so it wouldn't flop around

Ammo cans mounted into my chassis and works brilliantly.

How you secure them has a huge effect on how long they last. There are a couple high end electrician tool bag companies but that shit ain't cheap.

@GONOVRIT I've got a perfect size pelican case ( waterproof, locking, durable) with your name on it if you want.

Are you talking the smaller "bank style" zipper bags or the bigger catch all bags?
I have a number of smaller Klein zipper bags that I sort tolls into. (sockets, wrenches, screwdrivers) then throw them into the bigger bag. The smaller ones are more rugged and keep the sharp objcts off the main bag.

@snappy has a bag/pack that is kick ass. Not sure what kind it is but it's pretty nice and is well organized.

Maybe it's a Mac or Cornwell bag??? ;) :flipoff2:

X2, but the real genious is in the custom ziplock socket holders.

Its a klein and has help up very well. And yes the ziploc bags are a easy solution to keeping all my small sockets and other odds and ends..

Thanks! I'll try to get up with you next wk.
This is what I'm working with now.image.jpg
They fit nicely in my basket. I keep them strapped down and a soft cooler often rides on top of them. I take a lot more stuff than I need and I haven't had to use 90% of it in the past year but others have gotten use out of them. I don't like to constantly ask other people for tools and don't mind helping others out in need. Most people that wheel have been there before.

I have 3 of the bank size & type. Seems like I found them at Northern, or Harbor Freight. My Craftsman 100 piece + some other tools, took up too much space. I have a wrench bag, a socket set bag, & the other carries pliers, adjustable, screw drivers, ect. I like the soft sides, that I can pack anywhere in my larger storage box, & they don't rattle! Heck, only paid 4-5 dollars a piece, for them.
