I have a couple of toolboxes that were my Grandfathers and they are in VERY filthy condition. In the process of cleaning them up/out and can't figure how to get the drawers out! I'm familiar with various types of slides & releases, but don't see a way to release these...

Both are old mid-range (price wise) boxes from the '50s-'60s...

HELP!

Pics? Of a toolbox?... Come on brother, we all know what they look like! :D

Snappy hooked me up with the "secret" and the drawers came right out :bounce:

Most older boxes take a release between the slide and the drawer, a hacksaw blade works good......

My local snapon dealer loaned me a special tool he had. He said you used to be able to buy this 'tool'. Basically it was like a feeler gauge, but at a specific width length, thickness etc for just this purpose
