Tools on a peg board

I'll pass along this much.
Once it's up and organized, decide on a coloring scheme for sizes of wrenches you use the most. For me it's white for 10mm, light blue 12mm, yellow 13, dark blue 14, red 17, green 19, black 21, etc etc.
Dab or paint or colored electrical tape on handles of tools. Then put a matching dab / strip on its spot on the wall, or in the drawer, etc.
This makes it super easy to spot the tool you need from under the car etc and makes it really fast to find its spot to put back on the wall. It also makes it clear which one it is that is missing.
You can't just tell what size it is by looking at the wrench from 20ft away? Maybe I do have a sickness.

This is a Tim Allen bit from back in the late 80s or maybe early 90s, btw.....

I have a wall of pegboard. I keep no wrenches and the like on it. It has levels, squares, 4 hand grinders all with different wheels on them, drills, saws, and asst. crap, etc., stuff that doesnt fit in a tool box. My mechanics tools go in my two tool boxes. The pegboard pics with wrenches and crap is impressive but it's not really practical.

Another vote for a roll around cart. I got in the habit of putting everything back where it goes and locking my box when I'm done. That has paid off immensely in the world of aviation maintenance. It's just habit now. I also don't want anybody to just be able to grab whatever tool they want or it be left out in the open. I'm weird like that. I'd totally use peg board to hang like...spare belts, lawnmower blades, or other various maintenance items on though. I also plan to have some sort of super badass shelving or cubby holes to store motor oil, transmission fluid, gear oil, filters, etc in/on one day and basically keep a full vehicle's worth of fluid changes on hand and replace when used. Maybe buy bulk, depends on how often it gets used I guess. I really like being organized and maximizing available space.

Not when you have bad vision like mine!

Have you ever seen Dave’s glasses?
I did once I tried to pick them up and take a swig

I have a small wall of pegboard with task-specific tools and random stuff that looks like it would hang well (e.g. extension cords) Keeping the hooks on the wall is a constant challenge. My standard hand tools live in the tool box.
