Tools on the trail

since I trail a Willys,I have to be pretty self sufficiant.I carry ALL the parts to rebuild my front corners plus complete set of front axle shafts.Four various sized ammo boxes full of tools and lubs.Fifth ammo box with spare king pins/bearings,ujoints,drive shaft slip yolk, electric fuel pump/hose.

No need for rear axle shafts, got a offset flanged dana 44.Sixty horses won't break that thang.

My onboard welder was the best "public service" modification I've done.

I saw the title of this thread and thought something else...

I immediately thought of those clowns who try the same obstacle over and over without ever coming close to making it while everyone behind them waits.

or howbout the tumble turds that do clear it but have to do it several times over again while us folks that are in the same group and have allready cleared/gone around said obstacle get board out of our skull waiting to continue on with the ride.

Yeah but this did happen. I would have any other thing happen than this.....

Meh, even if you had the coffee can full of misc. hardware You prolly wouldn't have had the type of clip you needed. I would have to see it to figure out what to do about the problem. Does it seem like a replacement clip from the dealer would fix the problem? If so you could order two & put the spare in your bag of tricks.(coffee can) Many times they only come in a 5 pc. bag. If it was a regular C or E-clip, Advanced auto has snack packs with several sizes. I get off work around 4:30 if you need help with it.

in addition to all the aforementioned items, i always carry an extra can of dip or a pack of smokes. nothin quite as bad as being broken down in BFE trying to fix my stuff and to find out that im out of nicotine.

You are still young, I bring half a carton minimum, & paper towels in a big ziplock. I could get my own food, fire & water, but couldn't survive for long without smokes & PT! Of course at my age & 2 packs a day, I prolly won't survive for long anyway.

Well I talked with Owen at No Limit Off Road in Harrisburg yesterday and they are going to do some work on my lift as well so I mentioned the brakes and he is going to look at it and come up with something to make sure it doesn't happen again.

The clip that was on it is square shaped and has to flat hooks on the back that slide down and lock the pedal the linkeage. I do not know the name of the clip.

I don't know the name either, but that type can usually be squeezed ( push the two tabs towards each other) to get a quick fix.

I carry:

1 socket set
1 BF adjustable wrench
1 breaker bar
2 sets impact sockets (short and deep)
2 full sets of wrenches (metric and standard)
welding hood
welding rods
jumper cables
screw driver sets
punches
chisels
multi-meter
wire
connectors
electrician pliers
allen wrenches
hub sockets
magnet
nut drivers
pick tools

then i have all my spare parts, u-joints, fluids and misc other crap. i worry about breaking a lot.
