Can anybody tell me how to get to that trail? a few buddies are going up next weekend and We've never ran that trail. I know the basics up there like welder, armorall, pull cable etc. Directions from one of those would be greatly appreciated.

Go out of camp like you would be going to Welder/Armor All. At the first clearing where you go left across the creek to get on the main trail to Welder turn right up the hill. The trail should be marked with a fading red day glow 2. Follow this main trail all the way to the top of the mountain. When you get to the top the red trail will go off to the right, the yellow trail will curve around to the left and there is a smaller trail straight to the right going up hill that should be marked TOW. After you leave TOW follow the yellow to the Tower and continue down the mountian on the trail marked with a fading red 4. It will bring you out on the Green trail just at Welder entrance.

From camp, follow the white diamonds for a nice tour of the park :)

Pay attention to the weather before you go. We just got back and there was over a foot of snow in most places. We didn't attempt to go to TOW. Pull cable was impossible. If its steep going up there I hope you have a healthy V8. It took 4 well built rigs on 42s & 44s a long time to get up the mountain today with a ridiculous amount of throttle. I heard more rev limiter today than I have in a long time.

x2...From "The Step" all the way up to Blue was a rev limiter assault. The hillclimb was probably not a bright idea...but well worth the laugh. Watch out for the creeks. They are cold.

Thanks for the info John.

Yeah I have a feeling Step is out for us and probably TOW. Most of us are in smaller buggies and we don't have big HP motors.

There is probably some stuff at TOW for you! Plus, it's a great way to get to Welder :) More like taking the scenic route than just jumping on the interstate!

I'm just across the state line here in Boone and we have a foot or so of snow everywhere right now. Just FYI.
