because i dont think this really belongs in "builds"...
so we got a jeep right, 2011 4door...it cames with a GREAT bestop trektop pro (first gen, glass side windows)...
well, after some research on the top, and the company, I realized that who ever owned the jeep before us, or whom ever put the stinking top on, left out some parts (that are kind of essential to making sure it fits right).
*disclosure i do not work for bestop or anything like that*
so i contacted them, first it was about the rear defrost/wiper blade...as I couldnt find one at napa that fit the assembly....turns out, I have to order it from them, as its their assembly...(ok, whatever saves me a hassle sort of)...i bought it, they shipped it.
before it came in I realized that the middle bow assembly is sitting in my cargo area...odd... so I looked up the instructions (again) and that is when i realized i had a first gen. it requires three roof bows, and I only have two...odd...again I call bestop, customer service was great, once they figured out I had a first gen. (i dont know if they only made a few or something but it seems hard to locate information on i, and now it seems they only offer the NX which is plastic rear windows but i digress)...customer service, great, i bought and they sent out the rear bow...
before it gets to the house, I realized that i was also missing the drivers side housing for the rear bow (not because its a first gen, all their tops require the rear bow) its because either the person before us took it out (why???) or it didnt come with it to begin with by mistake, and their genius self didnt think it get it replaced, or some other circumstance)
well...again...i call bestop,...customer service was great, once we figured out just what part i was talking about... and they sent me out a replacement (free of charge, and fast so it got here the same day as the rear bow)...AWESOME!!!....
...well..this little housing piece that I was missing, isnt some little piece...its the top, side of the the top halo itself apparently...like I cant just take the new housing out and put it where it belongs on the assembly I have....
so long story short, today I have to take a 4mm allen, and 10mm wrnech,...take the dag burn thing apart, but it back together, all the while, hoping that 2-3 year old nuts and bolts dont give me a hassle
....pray I dont lose my cotton picking mind, and throw everything away....because the jeep is too big to be housed in our garage LOL!!!!!
