Does anyone know where to purchase a torque converter? I'm in need of one for an aw4 out of an XJ, and can only find them at the dealership for over 800 bucks. Any suggestions?

I purchased a rebuilt one from AutoZone for less than $200. Core cost may be around $50?

I may have one, that I never used, that may fit your unit. It was for a 87 toyota 4x4 with 22re. The AW4 is the same transmission from the transfer case forward.

You can get the stock number from AZ's web site and then call Accurate Transmission, who rebuilds the converters for AZ, and see if there is a match. If so, you can get this unsued one from me for $100.

Accurate has a web site. Their customer service is good.

PM me if you get a match, I work in Raleigh.

Check Loop road auto over in Garner. They can get a lot of stuff that other places can't get.

There is also a guy down in Ashboro that rebuilds them for around $100. I think he is on 49 south just out of town. Or it may be 64 not sure.

Hahaha, any contact information?

I'm going to call around to places like carquest and napa and see if I can get one from them.

I'll get in touch with you seairescue if they indeed do match. Thanks!
