I am helping my brother do a torsion key lift on his newly acquired 1999 ford ranger.

I know I know he should just rip out the ifs and go with a sas but I can't talk him into it so this is what we are doing.

Ok so here is my question..... The instruction say we will need a torsion bar puller tool, but I don't have one and I personally know nobody who does and Orileys Dosent carry one. Do I need it? And if so where can I borrow one from?

Thanks for the input?

Not 100% sure if it is necessary or not, but Ford made a tool especially for working on those torsion bars.

They help a helluva lot. You can get a nice one on Ebay for 40-50 bucks. I had one, but let someone borrow it and they f'ed it up. It's just as well anyway, I don't need it anymore!

It's also way less dangerous than using a c-clamp and you won't cuss near as much. Can he not get enough lift out of just cranking up his stock keys?

Don't over crank....
