torx bits

Nothing an improperly used metric socket didn't fix. It was what snappy is referring to, torx plus. I'm glad they don't want people working on their own shit. One more reason why I won't be owning a newer vehicle anytime ever.
Being a Toyota owner also, I really don't mind metric. In some respects its easier for the math impared. It does piss me off when they mix/match metric/english on the same vehicle....but you don't find out until you round the head off.

Whats the difference between an E-bit and a T-bit? Sorry if its a dumb question.

T- bit is male, fits into female bolt head, E-bit is female, fits over the flutes.

look a your Dmax engine, where the fuel vacuum guage plugs in, there are nuts holding that bracket down, the studs have "male" torx flutes, thats what an E-socket fits. many others in the engine as well.

Thanks I'll check it when I get back from my business trip.

Or on a jeep wrangler,
the E bit is at the top of the *(#*(@ bellhousing.
And when you reach up there, it feels sort of like a 12 side socket.
So when you try that, and it just rounds it off,
you keep guessing at it.
Until you get really pissed hammer something on there, take it off, and then realize it's a stupid E bolt.
So if anyone is looking to take the ax15 off, you have the Exx bolts, two T bolts, and I think 3 or 4 different sized "regular" sockets.
Why they aren't uniform is simple. The design engineers hate mechanics.
