My friend Ann is in dire need of a vehicle after her ex sued her to get the one she owns because she decided not to marry him. Very long story. So anyway, she doesn't have the means (financial or emotional) to fight the legal battle anymore to keep a vehicle that is titled in her DAMN name. Another friend of hers is willing to long term loan her a Jeep Cherokee that needs a fuel pump. The Jeep is in Durham off of Glenn rd and I live in Willow Springs, 10 minutes off of I-40 exit 312 (52 miles according to Google maps). I'm gonna do the fuel pump for her, but I don't have the means to tow it. My brother just sold his truck and trailer, she is getting quotes of $200 to move the truck 52 miles. She is a great person and really could use a break here at Christmas time. Kicker is it needs to be done this week.
Anyone here willing to help a nice girl who could use a break?
Anyone who could use $100 for four hours work?

Is it possible to do the repair where it sits ? as in, if the tools were there, and all you needed was manpower ?

Let me know the last min. you could do it and if no other offers ill do it for the cost of fuel

Hey Kevin, How about I pick it up after work Tuesday or Wednesday, its only 10min from work, then get it to your place on Thursday ? (I'm off Thursday)

edit - if someone with a winch could meet me there to help load it, that would be awesome..

I actually 'thinking' about that, I have AAA, so it would be easy for my to swing by and do that...

I've never had to use it (AAA), would I just need to be there to sign something when the tow driver picks it up?

Does someone need to ride along with the driver or just hand him directions ?

you don't have to ride with the car in the wrecker. just be there whenever AAA gets there.

I've shipped my tj back from almost at uwharrie when the ps pulley took a dump and couldn't get one anywhere. wrecker came, i told him where to take it, rode the rest of the day with a buddy who was caravaning up with me.

be there to present the card, and sigh the deal, give 'em directions and you are good to go

When I used to tow I got real tired of a few customers, doing exactly this, have you drop it 5 miles from end of limit, then call again tomorrow. ( small plans )

AAA is a good route to go, but they seem to have tightened up their rules a bit. When I had my jeep towed last time ( about a month ago) they said they would not tow it if it did not have current inspection and tags. Sure enough when the tow truck driver came, he actually broke out a flashlight and checked my inspection & tag sticker. May or may not be an issue for you, but something to keep in mind

Hmm...I had to use mine a few months ago, and once last year. I don't remember either dude checking anything, including my card! The drivers around here are usually independant or with a local shop, I guess they get reimbursed through AAA.

Block the trailer wheels and use a strap to pull the XJ up on the trailer with the tow rig. Hitch back up and roll on!
