Tow or drive it home?

This. Mapquest the route and figure out where 99 miles from home is (depending on which AAA level you have) and shoot for that. Anything more then that is a plus.

I have a perma ban from AAA for doing this "too much" in my late teens and early 20's. I think what got me "caught" was having the tow truck driver drop my off on the side of the highway at the 99 mile mark because he went the wrong way and made the trip an extra 8 or 9 miles hahaha.

I drove my 88 pickup back from Chicago sight unseen besides pictures/video from the auction website. All depends on your comfort level of the truck.

It was a great adventure.

Did I miss the sellers description of the truck? Currently running and driving...or been parked in a field for years?
If it is running, and it breaks, parts will be readily available and most repairs should be doable roadside.

If it is running, and it was me....I would rent a car, toss my breakdown tools in it, drive it up there (early) and take my time driving it home. I would shoot for the sweet spot of 9:30am - 3:30pm travel window.....or travel only at night.

I have used the one way rental car twice now, and it is a pretty cheap way to do the one-man pick up.
