Sounds like you just need to really bend over and buy a new one. Good luck figuring out which one isn't a POS brand new.
I do want to link up with my friends from California and Utah so yes diesel seems the most economical choice for me.Are you set on a Diesel? Any of the big 3 half tons will handle the weight you're talking about for occasionally towing. It may not be set it on cruise control and ride, but they'll handle it.
I recently traded my '01 Duramax and DD car on a new Sierra 1500. The Duramax only got driven to the dump or towing a 24' goose with two rigs and I hated it just sitting most of the time. I haven't towed anything with the Sierra yet but for DD duties it is very nice.
The warranty was the deciding factor for me. Car and truck both had some issues and I was tired of dealing with it.
I know one is on Craigslist with 230k on it for $18k.... I mean I just don't get that it's a 2003 vehicle. Regardless of it being the last year of the 7.3 it's so over priced it's hard for me to spend that kind of cash on one.
Lol nah it was a 4 door white f250are you talking about the black Excursion in Apex or Fuquay Varina.............. it's BULLETPROOF and says so in the add
had my buddy tow my jeep back to base in his '03 cummins 4dr and get 21 mpg at 70 on the hwy. i was sold
Bullshit. The overhead might have said you were getting 21, but you were actually getting 14-15.

.If you think a new Dodge is the way to go you might wanna look at this.
Problems with Chrysler and Ram - Warranty Issue - Fan Shroud Radiator Failure
Is it me or does that seem lifted?
I've been looking at replacing my 01 CTD dually with an 06-08 Dmax CC. From everything I've read and owners I've talked to (all brands) it looks like that's the best choice. It's hard to part with my truck because it's just been so damn good, but I will need a CC soon.
