I got an invitation to race in the Ultra4 championship in Reno, NV this October (21st-22nd). Due to some mandatory work meetings, I would have to fly in and fly out, not leaving me time to do the haul for myself.

Looking for suggestions.... I typically ship the race car with another team out to Hammers (paying that team for their efforts), but I think Erik Miller may be the only East Coast driver going.

Are there trusted websites for hiring drivers? In theory, I could put the car in my trailer and just hire someone to haul it there and back in their truck. Just not sure if services are out there like that?!

*I have used Uship bidding services several times for my jeep, but not for a race (I need my spare tires and gear to travel too).

Hell, post it on the Hauling section here. Who knows you might get lucky and find somebody who wants to go out there.

There are 1-2 guys in my club up here that do occasional hauls w/ their trucks, one guy brought a Bronco to me from TN. I can post up there and see if you get lucky. Downside being MD is another 7 hrs away.

If I had the equipment to do it I'd be at your house tomorrow with a double car gooseneck. I lived out there for a while and if I ever when I go back I'll never come back to the SE again. One way trip.

Sounds to me like you are NOT the guy to hire for this job!

You're hurting my feelings on purpose brah :(
In fairness, if I did have a copilot on the way there, he'd jump out long before we made it to st Louis.

if you can find a way to get the car and equipment from the train depot to the race and back Amtrak auto train hauls anything

i used it several times for boats we bought while i lived in florida...

i am a mechanic for an airline so we would find a really good deal on a boat, fly out to see it rent a truck to take it to the depot and put it on a train.... trailer and all... then fly back and in a couple of days i would get a call and pick up the boat....

did a 24 foot mariah for 400$ and a 26 foot regal for 650$ but that was almost 15 years ago.... i don't know what the price is now... the regal had to take up a whole car because of the length of the trailer they couldn't put anything else with it...

just an idea...

if you do go this route, make sure you cover it really well, i don't know what the hell they drug them through but both boats were covered with all kinds of shit that took me forever to clean up... dust, grime, pollen, soot.... there was a stain on one of the covers from something that never came out, but the boats were fine and it was a hella lot cheaper than paying for gas to make the trip....
