Lock Right for 7.5" Toy IFS...
Is it at all feasible to install without removing or even lowering the front differential?
Side shafts have not had the studs pressed out and replaced w/ bolts. No BJ spacers or anything.

Dropping and replacing that thing is such a PITA, but I know the axles have to come out (right)?

Dave, the half shafts have to come off anyways. Just 7 more bolts to drop the whole thing. IIRC, the carrier is a PITA to get out and back in. It has shims for preload instead of adjusters like the 8" thirds. Dont know how much this will help, but here is a pic from when I did mine.

Thanks, I installed one (this same one) several years ago, removed it when I started racing, I remember the shims.
I guess I was hoping to be able to leave it attached at the top and pop the stub shafts out.
Guess therer really is no room w the CVs right there huh.

I just think it would be easier to drop the whole thing. If I tried to lock it without dropping the whole diff, I can see myself getting pissed halfway thru and then dropping it out.

I just sooo loathe process of re-installing that !@#$ thing, its so awkward to balance on a jack. IIRC last time I used a lot of straps or something.

The point is... this locker clearly isn't getting installed before heading to RC Sat AM lol.
