toyota 2.7 or 3.4

i am looking to get a tacoma but i cant decide if i should get the 2.7 or 3.4 i will want good gas mileage but dont want to slug down the road

I've owned both. The 2.7 will do just fine. Even with stock gearing and 33's it was decent on power and I drove it to Virginia a couple times like that. From what I remember there wasn't much difference on gas but it's been 10 years since I owned a 3.4
