My step-sons has a 1985 22re has a oil leak , I have cleaned motor to see where it is leaking . seems to be coming from head gasket. I did a blue test,, tested good ,compression test was ok . is it possible for it to be leaking and not show any other symptoms ? no smoke ,no lack of power , no coolant oil mixed

Where is it coming from on the head ? They are notorious for leaking right near the front if you dont put some sealant on the bolt under the cam gear

I was gonna say the same thing out if it was like mine the bolt was loose and half way stripped out.

correct , mine leaks from behind the power steering tensioner , I think the issue comes from the joint where the timings cover , block and head all meet .

2 years ago i cleaned that area extremely well and slapped rtv on it , held the oil back for a while , it leaks now but not as bad as before

what we ended up doing . no leaks now
