i had a 4 inch pro comp with 33BFGs on a 90 v6 std cab shrt bed, and i know a lot of people have talked crap about pro comp's stuff but i beat the crap out that truck. never had a problem out of any of the lift parts or axles, but it was never in the rocks either. DD, mud, and 3-4 foot high jumps over railroad crossings couldnt hurt it. if i woulda kept it and crawled with it, there definatly would be straight axles under it.

For the price of a good 86-95 IFS lift you could get everything you need to do a SAS and have a way better set-up for wheeling.

I ran a 4" Pro Comp lift on my rig for years. The only reason I took it off was because I was doing more and more rock crawling. I still have it sitting around the shop. Not sure what to do with it right now. :)

try to grab a used pro comp for a couple hundred. They do good enough for what they are. I've run 35's on them, destroyed the front diff before the CV's. Drive with some sense and it'll last forever

BDS has liftime warranty on all there lift kits and I have used a few of them and they worked really nice.
Just another option. :)

I'm running shocks off a BDS kit and have to say, they are aweful.

where could you buy a kit that cheap?

Cheap as what? Couple hundred? That was used, and likely well-used...
Do you need a whole kit for front and rear (e.g. springs, brackets etc, shocks and everything) or just rear springs?

Just springs, used, can often be found for $100-200 or so depending on how "used"
