Just a little history.
The A/C compressor on my 89 Toy p/u was locked up. In order to have a little creature comfort (for the g-friend)in driving this thing to go wheeling I installed a used compressor.

There is an o-ring that sits in a groove on top of the compressor that seals the service valve plate that bolts to the top of the compressor. After spending a day doing everything, I was able to get it all working again. Problem is, the o-ring leaks. Found out from Toyota that this special o-ring is not available for my compressor.

Ok.....here is were a crazy thought comes in. Is there a high pressure sealer I can use? If I remove the service plate, clean all the oil off and lightly coat the o-ring, put it all back together and let it dry for a few hours?
Open for any suggestions. I have no idea how fast it`s leaking and it`s still a r-12 system.
Here`s a rough sketch of the one piece o-ring

Tried it. No dice. They do sell o-ring assortments at lots of parts houses, though, I never found the exact one, though. Hopefully someone else will chime in to hlep U. 134 swap is not that bad, especially if it just has a small leak, just put a little in every once in awhile, that junks waay cheaper. I always heard it wasnt as good, but in the Honda I killed last summer, it was great! :wheel:

Edit: just saw the drawing, square, huh? I may, MAY have a compessor laying around we could check to rob an oring if you wanna come by. Free.99. Gotta look in the AM, may have gone to scrap, I cant remember.

I stayed with r-12 because I didn`t have to pay for it. It`s great having really good friends that are in HVAC.

The drawing is *basically* the shape of it. If it wasn`t for the sectioned off piece I would have tried a basic o-ring.

Crossing fingers hoping that you may have that o-ring.
Thanks

Tried NAPA but all they have is the small orings that fit the hoses.
