I got an issue that I would like to get some input on before I tear into it. By brakes were working fine before I did my SAS. After everythign was put back together I bled the brakes and had plenty of pressure. After cranking the truck the brakes were very spongy. There was a massive vacuum leak (didnt plug a unnecessary port up) but after I plugged it and bled the brakes 3 times the pedal is still very spongy and little to no pressure. The way I understand it is that the booster shouldnt have any effect on the system when the truck is off so if the master cylinder was good then I would be building pressure. Correct? Any thoughts on this before I start rebuilding and replacing.

Did you bleed the LSPV also? That thing will hold a lot of air in the system.

Wheel cylinder on the front axle? Maybe bleed them with the truck running, although I am not sure how that would help other than more pressure on the lines.

I have had issues before with brakes and the best way I found to bleed them is with one of those had pump vacuum deals. I tried regular pumping of the pedal forever and it would never feel right. Hooked that thing up did it again and bam fixed.

did you go back with a toy front? i went with a 1 ton chevy master cylinder my pedal is still kinda soft but it will lock them up and im running tons

Its a toyota front and stock 93 master and booster. I will try the vacuum setup and the lspv as well. Ive never had any issues bleeding the old fashioned way before but the system did sit open for a while.

This is what I made up to bleed out my brakes when I had the same kind of trouble. Just remember to keep reservoir full.

Hook the above pictured hose to a bug/weed sprayer and fill with brake fluid and it'll automatically keep the reservoir full.

I bled the proportioning valve and no change. I tried the crappy loaner kit vacuum pump but it didnt really work so Im going to try a different one.
