I bought a clutch master cylinder for a 90's Toyota truck by mistake...I have an 85 that could use a new one. anyone know if that can be made to work? they look different, but the bolt pattern looks the same...the one I have is much longer than then one in my 85, but theres room there for sure

Isn't the push rod held in by rubber? I've swapped push rods out before with success, just don't tear the rubber (lol). Toyota was very good about not reinventing the wheel.

Consider sliding out the rods and comparing them, the throw length might be different.
Also you could take a look on parts interchanges and vehicle listing for your part and see what years it covers. Its possible it's just a difference in the aftermarket company's casting and the internals are the same.

I finally got around to installing it...looked slightly different (BOTH AISIN) but fit exactly the same...i haven't driven the truck yet though bc i didn't have anyone to help me bleed it...also i installed a 1" master brake cylinder at the same time....so both are in and fit perfect but cant drive it yet...
