Was watching Toyota Dad take the hard, middle line at Kodak Rock. He made it most of the way but the truck's gas carb refused to keep running at that angle. He backed back down, hopped out and flipped a couple of levers which switched him over to propane and crawled right up the same line. I didn't know you could run gas and propane in a duel fuel setup. Really cool to watch!

That was cool and a nice rig to !

It works really Well
If I had had the Propane tank turned on I wouldnt have had to gotten Out

It's really nice to see poeple take the time to think things through like that. That took some time and thought to get all that to work right, not to mention cash and patience. Cool !

I've been in the gasoline/LPG conversion business for about 10 years. Dual fuel set-ups are the norm in most of Europe. On carbureted engines it is usually done with an electrically operated LPG shut-off solenoid, a gasoline fuel shut-off solenoid, and an electric fuel pump. You just shut-off the fuel pump and gasoline fuel solenoid, and when the carburetor starts to starve you flip the LPG solenoid switch to open the flow of LPG. When you change back to gasoline you energize the fuel pump and gasoline fuel solenoid and then close the LPG solenoid. There are also system that do it automatically.

There are also systems for electronic fuel injected engines. These systems are pretty cool because they allow complete tuning over the entire fuel map from idle at no load, to full throttle full load. This type of system is fairly expensive and is generally bought stricly to save money on fuel costs (propane costs about 20%-30% less than gasoline as a motor fuel).

Toyotadad is the man he knows his stuff!
