Toyota drive shafts question

I have a 86 SAS 4 runner the rear drive shaft is a stock front shaft from and older model factory straight axle. I also have a rear drive shafts out of a 96 4runner. Question is will the slip joint fit both?? Reason I ask Is because I put a stage 2 clutch in and some bomb proof engine mounts. I am worried I may break a rear u joint and was thinking maybe I could just carry the slip joint for easy repair. Really I am being lazy and not just removing the shaft and trying it, but he'll it's sunday!! Rather ask!! Lol
 
All that ive seen pre 95 are the same slip splines. I doubt you will break a ujoint unless you have a special case.
