It's been long enough and I'm going to try and figure out how to assemble this thing.

Do I need gaskets or can I use some rtv? I've also got to adapt the 4 cylinder cases to a V6 transmission so rtv would be easy.

What torque to assemble it all?

Any hot tips? I'd like to tackle it Saturday evening

Use any gasket that is available. Rtv is a fucking mess. I think... It was 04 when I assembled mine... You can use gaskets everywhere

I used Permatex 81182 gear oil rtv when I pulled my cases to replace the output shaft seal on the trans. It worked fine but it was messy

For torque, i like to follow German specs, gutentight

Use rtv and the greman torque spec

I’ve always used RTV... seems to work just fine. Make sure the bolts that bolt the transmission to the tcase are the right length. In some cases, 2 of them at slightly longer than the other 4.. don’t ask if I have broke a hole in the housing due to this.
Just check it.
