How far back does it move your front driveshaft with duals? Can you run a triple case, if so is it a stupid idea and how far back from stock would the front shaft be?

I suppose you could run as many cases as you want. Each one will add roughly 6.5 inches to the front driveshaft, but also shorten the rear shaft by the same.

I would go dual transmissions before triple cases.

Horsepower :flipoff2:

I am guessing it would move soooo slow it would almost be pointless. I think this is slower then Merlins rig..

So I was wondering how the heck they ended up with 511:1, so I did some math. If I run my sm420 (7:1 granny gear), dual toyota cases with 4.7's in each, and 5.29 axle gears; I can have 817.99:1

But I'm guessing with the amount of lift the OP has, he's probably more concerned with just getting a driveshaft in.

^^^^ Exactly

You dont need more than stock duals around here really. I ran stock duals with 4.10s and 36s to 39s in my truck and never wished it went slower and i had plenty of torque to break parts. To answer your questions each dual adaptor adds 6.5" to thr drive line and with a scsb truck with dual cases the drive shafts should be close to the same length give or take a few inches

Ok, so I am Really confused here!!! Isn't this the truck that had a trans issue?? And I thought it was supposed to be a show truck??
But ok maybe you shifted gears on us (Hahahah that's a trans joke) anyway if you run duals then you just need to cut down your rear drive shaft, and I am guessing since you are going to run duals you are going to wheel it, so just run a square tube shaft for the front.

I though you had galloways put the tons under your truck? Why didn't they put a shaft in?

Did you find the trans issue? I would consider taking the truck to a driveshaft shop, such as @Oliver's, and let them see what they can do. If you think you may wheel it some, you probably do need dual cases; but if not, a high-angle driveline may be the way to spend your money.

Galloways wants to cut and rotate my knuckles which they quoted me at a $1000 minimum and I took my truck Oliver's and talked to Dave he said my only option would be a 80 degree shaft( which he wouldn't recommend bc the last guy that he knew that ran one, it blew his tcase and shot the ring gear through the housing). Dave suggested cutting and rotating my knuckles as well.

Haven't found the trans issue either. Might get a loan and get a new marlin tranny.
Personal loan? Stay FAR away from those!

Advice #1, try very hard not to finance hobbies.

#2, if two reputable shops have said that cutting/rotating the knuckles is the best option for you, it probably is. I know $1000 sounds like a lot, but you will likely have over 60-70% of that in dual cases.

I bet after finding a case, buying the adapters, having them installed, and new shafts made he is at $1500-1800

IF moving the case back 6.5" is enough to lessen the angle enough for a standard shaft to work!!!!
