toyota dually anyone know anything

I am working on a axle out of 83 toy 1 ton dually, however this is a five lug axle and is not full floating. the axle walked out of the bearing on one side. although this is a five lug it is a 8 inch 3rd. seems to me that the duallys were 6 lug and full floating. anyone know nay info on them or know any links on the history of them.

If anyone has a true dually axle i would be interested in purchasing it.

werent the 2wd axles 5 lug? I know they had a smaller 3rd, but maybe the "1 ton" is a 2wd axle with 8" 3rd?

and if the duallys were 6 lug FF, then would they be similar to a FJ80 rear?

that probly doesnt help any just throwin out ideas...

this sounds like some back woods shit but my girlfriends dads friends brother has a 1 ton toyota (not sure what year) that we took a work body off of a few weeks ago. It had a dually rear. I will ask if he would want to sell the axle if you'd like. truck hasn't run in years so he probably wouldn't want much if he would part with it. He likes to collect crap.

What do you mean by true dually? How do you tell if it is a full floater?Is it like a 14 bolt where it will have bolts holding the axle in and a semi float would just have a clip. I will ride by there and ask him on monday he is out of town this weekend I believe.

Last time I was at 21 Motors they had a Toyota Dually FF axle sitting on their rack less one shaft...might give them a call...

I might be able to get one from toyota, I remember one sitting out back. Ill have to check with some people. Most duallys were full floaters no sf, it blew my mind when i saw the first on roll in.

What rear axle do the u-haul trucks with the yota cabs have?

Never looked at one up close, but I believe I remember that they are full float.

i did some reading and evidently the semifloat style was recalled, there was a capaign on it, Toyota would upgrade to full floating for free until like 95 and then they were giving you the parts for free to convert up to 99. im about 8 years to late.

I think they switched to FF in 86 anything prior was SF.
