I think it's brilliant.
This "recall" is a clear case of "operater failure"... IOW owner stupidity.
Rathert han just sweep it undert he rug and suck it up, making them look stupid, Toyota is doing exactly the opposite, and answerin ga rediculous problem wit han equally rediculous solution, in a widely public manner.
As a result, nobody will actually take them in requesting the "recall service" b/c it will in turn make THEM look retarded.
Lets be honest, while zip-tied floormats might actually slip by unnoticed in a trail vehicle (actually seems like a pretty good idea, one of mine vanished thsi weekend), no Lexus owner will tolerate this kind of low-brow amenity in their vehcle.
