I have a 94 yota that Im doing an sas on and Im going to put 4:88's with my 35's because I drive it down the highway back and forth to base and was told that 5:29's would be to slow.
The key here is the auto tranny. It has only 4 gears so each one is a bit longer. Native gears were different. For 35s, 5.29 is a much closer match to stock setup.
You should run a 4:88 for 33" tires, anything bigger go with the 5:29's. A 4 cyl engine will thank you, as will the V6. You can run a slightly lower numbered gear with an auto.
You will def need 5.29s, do yukon and cyro them if youre going to wheel it. Youll need all the help you can get having an auto, that thing probably sucks 50 hp out of that engine and you dont have much more than that to start with.
If you go with cheap gear it WILL cost you more in the long run. Even if they have a lifetime warranty, labor will cost you. If you're going wheel it Yukon it and cryo them, alittle now or a lot later. Just found that out with a set of GG's. 5.71 in front diff died!!!!
go 5.29's. motves are as good as yukons, as are a few other brands, i usually install yukons b/c i get a good deal on them and there quality. you can cryo. but ive been running 4cyl non cryo'd yukons for quite some time a good set up goes a long way. Incedently i have mathing 5.29 3rds for sale- spool yukon exactly what you need. if you don't want the spool i can set something else for you.
