I rebuilt a 22RTE and put it in my tube chassis. Got around to firing it up yesterday and it will not idle. It will start when given some gas but will immediately die if the gas isn't applied in a feathering method. It is running rough when it is running.
I have no way of being sure if it is and 86 or 87 engine. It will run at a surging/high idle if the afm is unplugged.
I have swapped afm's and computers with no luck. The charcoal canister has been deleted. The engine is now running mechanical gauges. I guess it would help if I knew what vac lines it required to run?
The harness was cut and cleaned up while it was in the truck it was taken from and everything was running fine before it was pulled. Everything seems to be hooked up and hot now as it should be.
I'm out of ideas, any help or suggestions would be appreciated. I'm not against ruling anything out at this point.
