I have a 89 4runner. I plan to use it for winder driving, SUV when I need to haul something in the rain and light trail use. It has 4.56 gears and IFS lift. The lift is a rancho 4" lift kit. The front has a complete kit that was done about 10 year ago. The key was to use downy slip yoke axle shafts and leave out the pumkin drop and it allowed for 11" of travel. For IFS that's pretty awesome.
When I got it the tre adjuster sleeve was only about 1/4" threaded on and poped off on the trail first day. I ordered some longer adjuster sleeves to fix that. Now the idler arm and pitman arm hit the TRE adjuster clamp. It's really close and I think it will cause long term problems.
Anyone else have experience with this set up? 10 years ago it was top of the line. I don't want to trash it, I just want to fix it up and SAS is more than I want to do since it's not for hard trails.
