Toyota Manual Trans questions

I have looked at many documents on the web and have not found the answer I'm looking for. I have a 1993 4runner with the 3.0, it originally had an auto and was converted to manual from what I understand. It also has a chain drive tcase. I'm want to purchase a gear drive 4.7 case and replace it. Are there any other transmissions that will bolt directly to the 3.0? I do not see and adapter where they mate up so can I assume the I have an R series transmission? I found the casting numbers on the trans but no tag yet. Any thoughts?

I think the turbo trans with your bell would work but there not any cheeper then the adapter

That's still an R151 right? I just want to get my transmission identified so I can get the right tcase/adapters for it. Just to clarify I want to replace the tcase not the trans. And need to know what tcase can mate to the transmission

Talk to Bud at Budbuilt

I think Marlins website has some extensive info on transmission and tcase identification

I have checked those places, I haven't been able to find the transmission tag yet, but as far as I can read there is no other transmission that can bolt behind the 3.0.

Yes it should be a r150 i think its the only big bold mnuel other then a turbo
