The clutch in my crawler shit the bed at uwharrie last weekend. I'm looking at options for a replacement right now. The truck is a 22r on propane with dual cases, stock gears, 38 inch tsls. No crazy horsepower, gets trailered everywhere. I looked at the LCE, Marlin, center force and parts store kits. I've never wheeled a truck that I knew had a fancy performance clutch. I'll be pulling the trans this weekend and wanted opinions on what brand to go with. Is the extra cost justifiable? I'd like to hear from people that have run different setups.

A performance clutch is worth it just because of all the extra weight and drivetrain inertia that you've added over a stock vehicle.

Also add ACT and Clutchmasters to the list if they make units for your truck. I've put ACT in a few cars I've owned and their stuff works pretty damn well, and have had one or two Centerforce units as well.

Fwiw my taco has a marlin HD clutch, I've never had an issue and slip it and dump it quite a bit.

I'm not sure how much it was or exact specs, it was in the truck when I got it. It has held up well though

I just looked on their website, I had never heard of them before. Thats how I saw the pricing. They're OEM supplier manufactured, so they should be good if designed and spec's properly.

Only downside of marlin is their shit is never in stock. Idk if that applies to their clutches but their t case parts are damn near impossible to get.

I always use the eddy/daken clutches there oem and work well for me that being said by buggy had a brand new clutch on it when I got it and it says China in big letters and has held up well

2x's for daken, thats what i run in my underpowered samurais and they work good and never had a problem. I had one centerforce and hated it to pieces.

not toyota specific, but i've had good luck with LUK Pro Gold clutches. supposed to be ceramic disks etc.

I'd call LCE and or Marlin. My LCE performance clutches haven't been the cheapest but they've stood up to a lot of abuse in well powered turbo buggy.

Just call them. They listed the cruiser doubler as unavailable and I called one day to ask about it and they were ready to ship one that day. I chickened out because I was lacking 2500, but they had it.
