I have a Zuki with a 22re engine and the ps pump has somekinda valve on top that looks like vacum lines (has 2) might go, the ps is not working as I think it should could this be the problem?? I have a friend that has one also and his pump doesn't have this fitting on it just wanting to know if anyone knows if it need this hooked up to work properly!
Thanks,
Bradley C

Both of ours have the vavle and neither is hooked up, I just blocked the lines off. Bogger told me it was something for the idle up.

the valve is an idle up when turning the wheels at low engine speed, raises engine RPM slightly to compensate for added drag of pump working.

what are you using for fluid ?

Toy or Zuk steering box ?

It's a fj 60?or 80 box not the usual Toyota IFS box!Not sure on what kinda fluid, is there something better than something else??
It works just not as easy to turn as my friends with the IFS box and stock ps pump!
Thanks,
Bradley C

the FJ pump has more output volume than a truck pump. the Cruiser is heavier, needs more power assist to over come the weight.

kind like putting a Zuk engine in a Cruiser, it'll work, but the result will be less than stellar.

I'd look for a Cruiser pump or swap to an IFS box.

as far as fluid, Dexron 2 or better is the fluid of choice ( Toyota spec. in the FSM as well )
