So I recently got an 82 YOTA that came factory without power steering. I have been reading the bible on power steering mods. What I want to know is, is there a specific year model of truck that I should get the pump and gearbox from? Was there a defferent setup on later model pickups? I know I need the pump, gearbox, hoses, an I think I need a pulley or two off of the motor. I would like to run a high steer setup and from what i understand you cannot run high steer with the pre 85 steering boxes. Also, the truck has manual brakes, so what will I need besides a pwr booster and master cyl to make it pwr brakes? Also which year truck would be best for the brakes?

Power steering can come off anything with a 22r that had power steering. '82-'85 for now. You will need an IFS box when you go to hy steer. '86-'88. You will need a lift before going to hy steer as the tie rod will hit the oil pan without. Power brakes, Booster and master off same era trucks as the p/s setup. You will want to go to a Tundra (not sure of years) master cylinder if you go to rear discs or if you upgrade the fronts to vented rotors with V6 4runner calipers. (4cyl calipers you won't need the bigger master till you go to rear discs.)

if you need an ifs box i've got one. newly remanufactured one from sky manufacturing. i'd take $100 for it.
