for the yota guys that have done the SAS swap. im in the process of stockpiling my parts to do the swap on my 94. Ive found an axle for a decent price and thats close to home. My question is this axle has auto locking hubs, can i swap the manual hubs on my 94 and put them on this axle? Or are the auto locking ones better? Ive always liked the manual hubs myself and this is all thats holding me back from getting this axle. Thanks in advance

If I'm not mistaken the auto hubs are essentially just drive flanges on the Toyota stuff. However the SA stuff never came with auto hubs. Also the ifs hubs will not fit SA stuff. Best bet is to find a set of stock hubs (Aisin).

I had a front axle out of an 84 4-Runner with auto hubs, replaced them quick, they wouldn't stay locked half the time. You can adapt your IFS manual hubs if you replace the inner hub gear if memory serves. Marlin Crawler should have what you need.

so would yall guy pass on the whole deal and keep looking for one with manual hubs or what. the guy had another on the was auto lock and he converted to manual hubs too. if its gonn abe something thats gonna tie up alot of cash to swap them back to manual i might just pass on it

just called Marlin, no luck with a kit which the guy did give me the name of a company that did have the kits. that company said it would need new gears at 75 each...i think i will look for another axle local yard has one fgor the same price as the other im looking at

Auto-hubs were on some SA fronts. I had a set on an 84 axle I believe for one of my earlier SAS's. Just get a set of manual hubs and throw them on, no need to change hub gears or anything, since the birfs are the same in all the SA's.
