so Im finally rebuilding the axle that I tore apart over a year ago. I do not recall how many shims between the knuckle and steering arm and the knuckle and bearing cap. Can I just make all four sides the same or is there some way to measure? Is this a serious problem?

Thanks

Unless someone here knows a trick...you will have to put it together and check perload with a fish scale.

This will help too:

I ignore all the SST stuff and just put them together and pull on the steering arm with a fish scale...specs are in that PDF.

Needs to be tighter= less shims.

Looser(easier to pull) more shims.
