I posted looking for flat steering arms, but I was also wondering...

How strong are the stock toyota steering arms?

I'd be drilling the hole out to 3/4" and mounting a heim on top for full hydro.

Guess it boils down to is the stock arm as strong as the 4 stock mounting studs... Any ideas / input???

Not strong enough to handle hydro for long.

Yes, I have highsteer arms. I'm tring for a low ride height and still maintain clearancefor the steering ram at full stuff.

Just asking...

Cassidy's single seater has stock arms on it and I've seen it take a beating....

my dads heavy cruiser buggy runs stock arms with full hydro. No problems yet. It does have ARP studs though.

Also, i would step the 3/4 heims down to a 5/8 bolt so you dont have to take so much material out of the factory arm.

That has been one of the biggest problems on my yota stripping out the knuckle/steering bolts but ever since I replaced them with ARP's they have stayed together and have taken a beating!

I guess you could run a tie rod and a single ended ram. A double would make everything too vulnerable IMO.

Mine sits pretty low and I have plenty of room for travel and what not.
