I have a 1995 Toyota pickup 4x4 manual 5 speed with 165k miles..... I think it's about time to have some work done on my transmission since my rear main seal is already leaking. Anyone know what my best option price wise is either to rebuild my tranny or to find a used one? Thanks and God bless
 
I highly doubt it needs a rebuild. Plus more than likely it is the transfer case that is leaking instead of the trans. The case seals against the rear of transmission and most have a fluid pocket so to speak. Very common and normal for them to leak over time. How bad is it leaking. A small leak with gear oil can appear very large.
 
Not leaking to awful bad....few spots on pavement on porch or wherever I park when I drive it for a while. But the whole transmission seams to be soaked in oil all over on the outside. I can take a pic and send to you for visual
