track bar how-to ?or did i mean traction bar????

i gotta build a trac(-k)(tion) bar for my rear 60 on the cherokee. ive got bad axle wrap up under that and need something on it pretty quick.
what size tubing should i use, how long should it be with a 112 inch wheelbase. do i use heims on all three points or johnny joints? and any other useful information would be helpful.

As absolutely long as possible... bushings at the axle end and some kind of joint at the frame end will do ya just fine.

But long, and mount it as low as possible. longer than what motorman said, if it's possible.

Here are some pics of my old one. I used leaf spring eyes on the axle end, and a Johnny joint at the other end. The bar was made from schedule 40 pipe. I used it about 1 yr before taking the truck apart.

got my tubing its 1.5" 1/4 wall DOM . i can make it 5ft long if i attach it to the rear tube on my crossmember or do i need to give it its on crossmember my crossmember is two tubes of .120 wall dom that should be a good strong mounting location? do i need to do the shackle at the joint end like drkelly?

I recomend mounting it on the right side if at all possible. Mine is on the left side and I have a good bit of rise (anti-squat?) with accleration

ok gotta put a shackle on it. i planned on installing it on the right side. does it actually make a difference?

From what I've read it is "technically" supposed to be on the passy side of the pumpkin to counteract driveshaft torque. Alot of my friends and myself included have ours on the drivers side due to exhaust/x-member clearance issues. Mine works great, I wouldn't change a thing. If you can fit it on the passy side go for it, if not, don't sweat it too much.
