How do you think it will fair? Never been wheeling in the Uwahrrie. Its 2 wheel drive and all tube chassis with a turbo efi VW motor. I just want to ride and places on the coast are getting scarce

Thanks

Brendan

I've done just about all of UNF in 2wd, so I guess it would fare OK as long as you have a locking diff...

But without any kind of self-recovery gear, I dunno... I got REAL tired of the rail buggies at Tellico..

I used to talk to a bunch of baja bug guys that went to URE all the time and they had a blast. You dont really need 4wheel in a railer if your not scared to keep a little bit of momentum.

Have to agree with Rich. The problem with the buggies is the momentum thing. when you have to hit it hard, you break things. the drive lines on those things just are not too beefy. Not to mention, the wheel speed and all the rocks that you throw onto onlookers. IMHO just not a good match. Sell the buggy, and but a 4wd and have some real fun.

Seems like they tear up the trail too--not trying to be a dick. Kind of goes along with chip...momentum&wheelspeed tear a lot up...

That would suck! Why not do what you have to do to make it street legal?

I talked to a guy in a sand rail out there a wile back. He said, " It was beating him to death on the trails."

I think if you have a really low granny gear and a strong back you might fair pretty well.

a friend of mine took his rail down there---he said the same thing about it being pretty rough on the back---the only problem he had was on Danial---at the rutted turn he said it would pick the front up and stand on the rear of the cage---but that was long ago before they smoothed it out the first time. Hell, if you want to play and that's all you have---go 4 it---I would take a riding lawn mower if that's all I had. Good luck and have fun:)

I do believe I’d rather share the trails in Uwharrie with a few Rail Buggies every-now-and-then, than with all of those ATV-ers that can’t seem to be bothered with following the damn rules... what-with knocking down fences in order to go zipping off through the woods, without a single trail in sight - or racing like demons, straight through a group of people that are standing around talking to Janet at the top of Daniel.

Compared to that, I don't think Buggies pose much of a legitimate concern at all.

Cheers!
