Trail gear twin stick

Installed a 4.7 tcase in my 81 toyota pickup. The case was originally a forward shift case but that won't work with my older transmission. We swapped shift rails and the fork to make it a top shift case. After installing the case in the truck with the twin sticks, the high/low seems to work ok but the 2wd/4wd doesn't have nearly as much throw to it and acts like it might pop out of gear. Has anyone else had this problem? I trimmed down the shift rails because there is very little room between the tcase and tranny when they mate up. They are both the same length. Any ideas would be appreciated!

I have the Trail Gear set up in mine and really do not like it. I'm running twin cases but it shouldn't matter, maybe a little more binding. Hi-Lo seems to work OK but 2WD-4WD can be a pain to get in and out of. Seems to be about an inch of movement if not less with the shifters, and feels like there should be more. ECGS did the install so I am confident it was done right. I just think there are better twin sticks out there and plan on swapping it out when I get a chance.

Cool, thanks for the info!

Yeah I thought about the less travel on the 2/4 side. I think the shift rail is just too long and it's hitting the back of the tranny.
