Been needing some beadlocks and although aluminum would be sweet, I was thinking a DIY set simply based on cost. However, ran across a set of used 15x9 Trail Ready's for the 4runner (6x5.5).

So I'm curious...how much these jokers worth? And at what price point are they better than a DIY set?

My DIY rings added 10# to each tire with hardware. They leak down. when sitting in the garage. I can't run 5psi in my rears because the air will burp out of them so I have to run 8-10 psi in rear.
I don't know how much those aluminum TR weigh but I'm sure there's a good weight savings. I think my A-Z Fab rings were $180 + $100 for hardware plus the cost of new rims that I put them on. I used beads to balance them and that part works great.

I'm running TMI DIY rings on 17" steel wheels. I spent about $380 with HW and shipping for a set of 5.

They added about 15 lbs to each wheel but so far, they have been great. They hold air just fine sitting in the garage. Conventional balancing with all but one needing a few oz or weight and the one that needed a lot is most likely due to not aligning the tire correctly in the wheel. The biggest thing is to have done a good job on wheel prep, have a good welder do them and use some silicon on the bead to ring.

I've run two sets of DIY beadlocks and now I have a set of Racelines. The Racelines are around 42 lbs according to the website. A steel 17x9 are around 40 lbs. Add in the rings, the hardware, plus the weld and you're beyond the 42 lbs of the Raceline easy. I didn't balance my diy wheels. I guess I could have thrown in a pound of airsoft pellets in each tire but I didn't. I can definitely tell a difference when I'm driving on the road. That's something I think most people don't consider but it does make a difference. Adding to all that is now you have to put in all the time to weld them, paint them and find a sweet supply of v-belts to make anti-coning rings with.

I know you didn't ask for all that but I wanted to make a point. You're getting what you pay for with most aluminum beadlocks IMO. Yes, you may end up paying a little more on the front end but I think it's a worthwhile investment.
