trailer axle curve

i just bought a 3500 pound trailer axle with no spring perches. The axle has an arch to it which direction does the arch go? Does it point up or down

the weight will flatten it out....in theory...

Up, measure the caster too, and be sure it's to the front. The Dexter 7k I just put in a trailer was right at 1/8" toe-in and 1/2" camber. (Had to measure, as I was shortening the axle by 7" and needed to keep the setup.)
