trailer brakes

I bought a controler to install in my e-250 van. the van is a 2001 that was once a carolina lift van, the red ones you see everywhere. my question is this, is the van wired for the brakes from the factory for towing?

What plug does it have for the trailer could be a sign? Get a wiring diagram and check to see if the wires are in place. I do not know what wires it is on a ford but hopefully someone can shed some light. Good luck

should be a harness available from Ford that plugs into a ready port under the dash.

get the part # you need and you could find it on Ebay. Most trailer places have them as well.

should be a harness at the drivers kick panel below the e-brake. It may be taped to the harness going toward the rear of the van. Like everyone else said ck with trailer supply places or the stealership

I drive one of those vans and no they arent wired for trailer brakes just the 4 or 5 flat plug connector.
