of all the things to have trouble with i wouldn't expect to be posting about trailer lights but i have been working on this all weekend and can't figure it out. I put new lights on my trailer and ran wires for my brakes and lights, the brakes work fine. THe lights don't, at first i couldn't get them to go off got that fixed but i am getting some kind of feedback between turn signals so they both blink whenever a signal is on just one blinks brighter then the other one. NOw comes the odd part when i hit my brakes the trailer lights go out completely, any suggestions. THe wiring on my truck is a factory setup so i don't think the problems is there

Assuming the wires are correctly hooked up, I would guess bad ground. Bad grounds cause trailer lights to do VERY odd things.

*IF* you have a never style truck with "Daytime Running Lights"... they WILL play havoc on getting your lights trailer light working CORRECTLY! We spent a couple of hours trying to figure out why they were backwards, etc.... turned off the DRL (funky on-off-on sequence in GMs) and they started working...

x3 on the ground. Make sure you add a dedicated ground into the harness, going from the frame to the 7-pin plug. It helps the brakes work better too. use at least 14 gauge, if not 12.

Then clean up all the grounds, re-attach, and spray paint them..

Glad it worked for ya!
