Here are a couple of pics of a trailer project I'm working on. Its for camping to pull behind the CJ5. Working now on building a box for it 24" tall with lid. It's a military 3/4 ton M101A2 trailer (what's left of it) cut down to 36"x54" bed, and the axle cut down to match the WMS of my Narrowtrack CJ. Two leaves removed to let it flex a bit and get the ride height the same as my CJ.

Wheels are 15x10's bought from this board, tires are old 33x12.50's off my CJ.

I put a 2" reciever inset in the rear frame rail so I can mount my bike rack (or deer). Sorry about the crappy night pic. The trailer has been painted in black POR15.

This is what'll pull it around:

The pintle hitch will suck going down the road, but will do great off road. I had thought about building something like that before, but, there isn't a need for it anywhere I go.
I have seen some of these(in pictures) where the trailer folded out, and made a platform for a tent.
Be careful how much weight you put on the rear rack, could take away tongue weight and make it squirrelly going down the road.

Every trailer I got has a pintle. I'm always hooking up solo, and they're so much easier to connect -- back up until it taps, then stop. :) The clanking/etc on road and in turns isn't that bad.

10-4. That's just for the bikes more than anything else. The spare tire mounts on the tongue vertically right at the front of the box. When I have the bikes loaded on it (and the box finished), even with the trailer box empty I'll still have over 10% on the hitch.

Better paint over the POR-15. It dosen't like UV rays. Wait and see.

Yep, I'm gonna leave all he hidden parts plain, and scuff sand and overcoat the tongue and and frame sides that'll be exposed with their chassis coat black. I've been using POR for eight years, and stuff done back then will cloud up when exposed but seems to still be doing the job otherwise.
