How can I figure out what my trailer can haul? When I got the trailer it had a sticker that said it can haul like 10k lbs. That sticker is long gone. Its a 22' dual 6 lug axle trailer with one set having brakes. It seams really heavy and makes 1/2 ton trucks squat. I want to tow my Excursion on 44's with it so it doesn't wear down the tires when I go to car shows. I know the tires need swapped as they are only only load range C. I don't see any load range E tires out there for the size I want only a D. Pretty sure this will put the trailer at its Limit. Excursion wiehgs close to 10k lbs.

Thanks

Most 6 lug axles are 5500 lbs axles but you have to factor it the bed weight also

For example my trailer has 2 7k axles whitch is 14k of total weight than can be on the axles the bed weighs 2k so i only have 12k that i can use at max compacity

Nothing on the Axles but the tongue says 12,500 GVW so I think I will be ok towing the big boy with the little one. I think my Big truck will just barely fit on the trailer BUT not sure if the fenders will support driving over them. they are 3/16 and supported between the tires by tubing. I should make them removeable

You will be at the Max for that trailer

That's just for the tongue. It's just a manufactured piece that's added to the trailer when it's fabricated.

You'll likely need new wheels (16") and tires to carry that much weight. 235/85R16 load E truck tires work well.

Shoot...I'd be looking for a dually and about a 28ft gooseneck. I'd really hate to max out that trailer and have a blow out or lose a hub/bearing and you or someone else get hurt. Much less lose the load you're hauling. I would definitely want a trailer with some 8 lug axles with brakes on both of them.

What are you planning to haul the Excursion with?

Ahh, good. At least you didn't say "I've got a 2wd F150" hahaha. I believe with a slightly heavier trailer, you should be good! May want to invest in a weight distributing hitch if you haven't already. It will really help keep that heavy load under control.

LOL Ya the tow rig sits really low. I don't think I can get a distro hitch under it. I run a drop hitch as a 6" lift hitch. I guess I will just drive it for now and see about getting a heavier one later.

No way I'd be putting it on that trailer. The axles will hate u. A trailer with dual 7k axles and a touch heavier main frame and u will be good
