Trailer Tags and Titles

Recently bought a 5x8 trailer. Any of you guys know if the title has to be notarized to get a tag? If it does the guy I bought it from never signed the title when he bought. Plan on using original sellers signature pretending I bought it from him even though I’m the 3rd owner. Any info appreciated.

If it is a NC title, then yes it has to be notarized. FYI it's illegal to have that, so don't take it to the DMV and ask them to notarize it as they very likely may take it from you. I hope you know a notary that will notarize a third hand signature....

If you have proof you bought it from someone, you could always ask for your money back, or get them to get it notarized. If they refuse and you have PROOF of who you purchased it from you can always call DMV license and theft and they will go give them a visit without a doubt.
