Trailer wiring tester...

I don't know if this is something anyone else cares about but it's something that's bothered me for a long time since I'm a trailer hoarder and most of them are shitty. Anyways I've got a couple of the cheap china 7 pin vehicle side light/brake testers that work pretty well for checking the truck side, but there isn't really anything out there decent for checking the trailer wiring...the wiring that's usually the issue. So anyway it's not pretty but it was an hour worth work and all stuff that was laying around -- even if purchased is less than $50 worth of stuff.
12v battery, cheapo 4 relay 12v remote, and a 7 pin vehicle side connector. (also a flat 4 pin if you want). I added a fuse and on/off switch and set the relay block up to be latching on/off, just stand at the back of the trailer and push the button...

I had a box at camping world we made with toggle switches to turn circuits on when testing the trailer and an old magnet and lights to test the truck plug and brake controller.
Yours is pretty slick with the remote control.

When I unlock the doors on my truck, all the running lights, tail lights, and tag light come on. When I lock it, it cycles the brake/turn lights. And the fob is wireless :D

That’s interesting. My lock/unlock only cycles the vehicle lights (2012 Cummings) not anything connected through the 7 pin. Maybe it isolates the trailer lights to only function during normal operation?

... unless a wire on the trailer is shorted to ground.

I need something like that. I usually grab the wife or one of the boys......
