I don't know if this is something anyone else cares about but it's something that's bothered me for a long time since I'm a trailer hoarder and most of them are shitty. Anyways I've got a couple of the cheap china 7 pin vehicle side light/brake testers that work pretty well for checking the truck side, but there isn't really anything out there decent for checking the trailer wiring...the wiring that's usually the issue. So anyway it's not pretty but it was an hour worth work and all stuff that was laying around -- even if purchased is less than $50 worth of stuff.
12v battery, cheapo 4 relay 12v remote, and a 7 pin vehicle side connector. (also a flat 4 pin if you want). I added a fuse and on/off switch and set the relay block up to be latching on/off, just stand at the back of the trailer and push the button...
