Trails near Hot Springs, NC?

Hey everyone,
I'm headed up to Hot Springs, NC (35°53'43"N 82°49'35"W) in a couple months and want to check for any decent trails within a half hour drive from there. I don't know the area very well, and the closest trail I can find is over an hour away:
Horsecove Gap Trail, TN Horsecove Gap Trail

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

The Appalachian trail goes right through downtown hotsprings I’ve walked it

I don't know how to drive there, but I have hiked on the AT through there, nice place.

There is a dirt road that intersects the AT near where it crosses the state line.

Paint Creek trail used to be good, but they closed the only challenging part of it a few years ago. I dont know what there is now.

Hurricane creek isn't too far away.
