tranny and t-case skid plate

rebuilding a cj7 with a 4 inch lift. i have heard that you need to lower the skid plate for the transmission and transfer case to help the drive line match up better. how much should this be lowered? does anyone know?
 
try it first without lowering the trans, etc.

If $$$ is tight, space the trans/TC down about 1.5", maybe 2. If you have some extra $$$, leave it where it is and get a new rear CV driveshaft. The CV joint will help out with the extra angle of the shaft and will help keep the vibration minimal.
 
yeah money is a little tight but i want to make sure everything works properly and i would rather spend a little extra not then have to fix something in a year or so. thanks for the advice. any other opinions out there?
